Our drainage team were called to this residential home in Wahroonga about a blocked stormwater drain. Excess stormwater was leaking from the ground, close to the previous pipe relining that we completed in April 2025.

Unblocking the Stormwater Drain

Once our plumbers have settled in, we assess the extent of the situation. We pull our CCTV drain equipment onto the main street, snaking the camera down the street's stormwater grate. Our team discovered that the pipe and drain were blocked by a series of tree roots. Tree roots are attracted to moisture and can infiltrate your pipes by using the smallest crack. Once the source of the blockage was located, we then went in with our powerful jet blaster to loosen and break up the tree roots. This allowed water to flow through the pipes again.

When the flow was successfully restored, we performed another CCTV drain inspection to check for any other blockages or defects.

Stormwater Pit Cleaning

Whilst performing the CCTV drain inspection, we also found that the bottom of the stormwater pit was full of sediment. Our drainage specialist carefully excavated the base of the pit, cleaned and removed the sediment. Regularly cleaning your stormwater pit helps to avoid dangerous flooding, blockages and mosquitoes.
